The dried mature seed kernel of Coix lacryma-jobi var. ma-yuen (Poaceae). Enters the Spleen, Stomach, and Lung channels. Sweet, bland, and cool, it promotes urination and percolates dampness while strengthening the Spleen, making it both food and medicinal. Zhang Zhongjing's Yi Yi Fu Zi Bai Jiang San treats intestinal abscess, and Ma Xing Yi Gan Tang addresses wind-damp body pain.
长于利水渗湿、清热排脓、除痹
健脾止泻作用增强，多用于脾虚泄泻
常用9–30g；本品力缓，用量宜大。健脾止泻宜炒用，余皆生用。
