Treatment Principle

疏肝解郁，理气和血

Course the Liver and resolve depression; regulate qi and harmonize blood

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

emotional depression
wandering distending pain in the chest, hypochondrium, or lower abdomen
frequent sighing
irregular menstruation and premenstrual breast distension and pain in women

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

plum-pit qi (globus hystericus)
goiter

Pathomechanism · 病机

Liver fails to govern free-coursing, and qi dynamics are depressed and stagnant.
