Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

• sensation of something stuck in the throat like a plum pit
• cannot be coughed up
• cannot be swallowed down
• fullness and oppression in the chest and hypochondrium

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

• emotional depression with frequent sighing
• or cough with copious phlegm

Etiology · 病因

Emotional frustration with Liver qi depression, so qi and phlegm bind together in the throat.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Depressed qi with congealed phlegm bound in the throat.
