From the Jin Gui Yao Lue, this formula treats plum-pit qi (mei he qi)—the sensation of something stuck in the throat that can neither be swallowed nor expelled. Composed of ban xia, hou po, fu ling, sheng jiang, and zi su ye, it addresses qi constraint with phlegm congelation from emotional frustration.
