Xīn Qì Xū Zhèng

Heart Qi Vacuity Pattern

Treatment Principle

补益心气，养心安神

Tonify Heart qi and calm the spirit

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

palpitations and fearful throbbing
shortness of breath, aggravated by exertion
mental fatigue and lack of strength
spontaneous sweating
pale complexion

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

chest oppression and discomfort
shortness of breath and reluctance to speak

Etiology · 病因

Constitutional weakness, lack of nourishment after prolonged illness, age-related decline of the zang qi, or excessive sweating and purging that exhausts Heart qi.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Insufficient Heart qi fails to pulse the blood, and the Heart spirit lacks nourishment.

炙甘草汤

Zhì Gān Cǎo Tāng

Honey-Fried Licorice Decoction

温胆汤

Wēn Dǎn Tāng

Warm the Gallbladder Decoction
