Like water that moistens and descends, the deep pulse arrives low—soft, slippery, and even between sinew and bone. In women at the cun, in men at the chi, when constant through the four seasons it is called normal.
轻取不应，重按始得。脉位深在筋骨之间，按之有力或无力皆主里证。
Not felt with light pressure; only obtained with heavy pressure between sinew and bone. The pulse sits deep; whether forceful or forceless, it reflects an interior condition.
主里证。沉而有力为里实，邪气内郁；沉而无力为里虚，脏腑气血不足。
Chiefly signals interior patterns. Deep and forceful indicates interior excess with pathogenic qi pent within; deep and forceless indicates interior deficiency of organ qi and blood.
