肾阴虚证

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

• soreness, weakness, and pain of the lower back and knees
• dizziness and tinnitus
• heat in the five centers, tidal fever and night sweating
• malar flush
• insomnia with excessive dreaming
• seminal emission and premature ejaculation in men, or scanty menstruation, amenorrhea, or flooding and spotting in women

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

• emaciation
• dry mouth and parched throat
• dry bound stools

Etiology · 病因

Constitutional vacuity with excessive sexual activity; or prolonged illness damaging the Kidney; or late stages of warm-heat disease depleting Kidney yin; or excessive use of warming and drying substances.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Kidney yin is vacuous and depleted; the sea of marrow is not full, vacuity fire harasses internally, and yin cannot restrain yang.
