Arriving surging and abundant, departing in decline, it fills the fingers like a rising tide—matched to the season of summer.
Broad and large in body, vigorous on arrival and waning on departure, like surging waves—powerful as it rises, ebbing as it falls.
Indicates flourishing interior heat, particularly heat in the qi level. Yet in chronic illness with qi deficiency, blood loss, or diarrhoea, a surging pulse signals consumed yin fluids and deserting yang—a critical sign.
