缓和燥性,增强健脾和胃之功
煎服3–10g;理气健脾可用3–6g;化痰止咳可用6–10g。陈久者良,陈放三年以上称“陈皮”。

气虚体燥、阴虚燥咳及吐血者慎用。温病热证者忌用。
辛温香燥,阴虚津亏、内热燥渴及咯血者慎用。现代研究未见明显毒性,但过量或长期使用可耗气伤津。
橘柚,味辛,温。主胸中瘕热逆气,利水谷。久服去臭,下气,通神。

陈皮含挥发油(柠檬烯)、黄酮类(橙皮苷、川陈皮素、橘皮素)及微量辛弗林,具有促胃肠动力、祛痰、抗炎及抗氧化作用。
Citri reticulatae Pericarpium contains essential oil (limonene), flavonoids (hesperidin, nobiletin, tangeretin), and trace synephrine, with prokinetic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activity.
《中药学》(Bensky)指出陈皮越陈越良,陈化过程中刺激性挥发油减少,理气和中之效更显。
Bensky notes the traditional preference for aged Chen Pi, as aging reduces irritant volatile components while preserving qi-regulating activity.
陈氏药理学记载陈皮多甲氧基黄酮(川陈皮素、橘皮素)具有显著的抗炎及抗肿瘤活性。
