Peaceful Palace Bovine Bezoar Pill

The first of the 'Three Cool-Opening Treasures' in the warm-disease school (the other two being Zi Xue Dan and Zhi Bao Dan), from Wu Jutong's Wen Bing Tiao Bian. It treats warm-heat pathogen invading the Pericardium and phlegm-heat clouding the clear orifices with high fever, spirit clouding, delirious speech, and wind-stroke orifice blockage. Note: This data entry includes only five substitute herbs (huang lian, huang qin, zhi zi, yu jin, bing pian); clinical use requires the officially approved manufactured product.

An Gong Niu Huang opens the orifices: Huang Qin, Huang Lian, Zhi Zi, Yu Jin, Zhu Sha, Xiong Huang; Xi Jiao, Zhen Zhu, Bing Pian, She Xiang and gold leaf — for heat closure of the pericardium, its effect is superb.
