The dried aerial part of Pogostemon cablin (Lamiaceae). Enters the Spleen, Stomach, and Lung channels. Pungent and slightly warm, it is the representative aromatic dampness-transforming herb: warm yet not harshly drying, it aromatically transforms middle-burner dampness-turbidity, harmonizes the middle and stops vomiting, and releases summerheat exterior patterns. It serves as the chief in Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San for summer external wind-cold with internal dampness.

藿香正气散,治伤寒头疼,憎寒壮热,上喘咳嗽,五劳七伤,八般风痰,五般膈气,心腹冷痛,反胃呕恶,气泻霍乱。
