膀胱湿热证

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

• frequent urgent scanty dark painful urination
• dribbling inhibited urination
• hematuria, difficulty urinating, or urinary gravel
• distension and pain in the lower abdomen
• fever, or distending pain in the lower back

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

• bitter sticky taste in the mouth
• thirst without desire to drink much

Etiology · 病因

Externally contracted damp-heat binding in the lower jiao; or dietary irregularity with a preference for rich and pungent foods engendering internal damp-heat that pours down into the Bladder.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Damp-heat binds in the Bladder; qi transformation is inhibited, the waterways are obstructed, and heat damages the blood vessels.
