Treatment Principle

滋阴清热

Enrich yin and clear heat

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

emaciation
dry mouth and parched throat
heat in the five centers (palms, soles, and chest)
tidal fever and night sweating
malar flush

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

short dark urination
dry bound stools

Etiology · 病因

Yin damaged by febrile disease, consumed by chronic illness, depleted by unregulated sexual activity, or burned away by extreme emotions transforming into fire.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Yin humor is diminished and cannot restrain yang, giving rise to internal vacuity heat.
