Tongue vivid red, surface smooth and glossy like a mirror, entirely lacking coating, dry with scant fluids.
主胃气大伤、胃阴枯涸或阴虚火旺重证；预后多较差，见于热病后期或久病阴竭。
Indicates severe damage to stomach qi with exhausted stomach yin, or pronounced yin deficiency with effulgent fire; usually carries a guarded prognosis, seen in the late stage of febrile disease or long-standing yin collapse.
