The fresh rhizome of Zingiber officinale (Zingiberaceae). Enters the Lung, Spleen, and Stomach channels. Pungent and warm, it is celebrated as the 'sage herb for vomiting' (ou jia sheng yao) and serves as the primary antidote for Pinellia and Arisaema toxicity. Frequently employed as an envoy herb to harmonize the actions of other medicinals in decoctions.
解表散寒、温中止呕、化痰止咳
温中止呕、止泻作用强而发散力减,用于脾胃虚寒腹痛吐泻
