A celebrated formula for Stomach-fire toothache from Li Dongyuan's Secret Treasury of the Orchid Chamber. Huang Lian's bitter cold directly subdues Stomach fire as sovereign, while Sheng Ma raises and disperses depressed fire. Sheng Di Huang and Mu Dan Pi cool the blood, and Dang Gui invigorates blood to relieve pain.
