Urticaria is characterized by suddenly appearing wheals with itching, occurring at unpredictable locations and appearing and disappearing intermittently.
Key differentiation: Wind-cold type worsens with cold and has pale wheals; wind-heat type worsens with heat and has red wheals; blood vacuity wind-dryness type recurs frequently.
