九味羌活汤

Jiǔ Wèi Qiāng Huó Tāng

Nine-Herb Decoction with Notopterygium

A widely used formula for exterior wind-cold-dampness with latent interior heat. Built on the concept of treating by channel, it pairs Qiang Huo with wind-dispersing, dampness-resolving herbs while adding Sheng Di Huang and Huang Qin to clear interior heat — an exemplar of simultaneous exterior-interior treatment.
