Phlegm-fluid retention encompasses pathological products formed by impaired fluid metabolism. The Spleen is the source of phlegm production, the Lung is its container.
Key differentiation: Phlegm in the Stomach causes vomiting; in the Lung causes cough; in the limbs causes edema; in the chest causes oppression.
