Palpitation refers to an uncomfortable awareness of the heartbeat, sometimes uncontrollable. The disease site is the Heart, but it also involves the Liver, Spleen, Kidneys, and Lungs.
Key differentiation: Heart qi vacuity shows palpitations with shortness of breath worsened by activity; Heart blood vacuity with insomnia; Heart yang vacuity with chest oppression and cold; blood stasis with chest pain.
