乌梅丸

Zhang Zhongjing's formula from the Shang Han Lun jue yin chapter (line 338), serving as both an antiparasitic and a representative formula for jue yin cold-heat complex patterns. It treats roundworm reversal (hui jue) with paroxysmal epigastric pain, vomiting after eating, and vomiting of worms, as well as chronic diarrhea and dysentery of the cold-heat complex type. The formula combines sour (wu mei), pungent (xi xin, gui zhi, fu zi, gan jiang), and bitter (huang lian, huang bai) with qi and blood supplementation.
