独活寄生汤

Sun Simiao's formula from Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang for chronic impediment (bi) with Liver-Kidney vacuity and qi-blood insufficiency. It treats lumbar-knee pain, weakness, inability to flex or extend, numbness, aversion to cold, palpitations, shortness of breath, a pale tongue with white coating, and a fine weak pulse. It uses du huo, sang ji sheng, du zhong, and fourteen other herbs to simultaneously dispel wind-dampness, stop impediment pain, supplement the Liver-Kidney, and augment qi-blood.
